Lighting and Tonality

This weeks lesson started with Michael asking us to look into comic book artists Neal Adams and Mort Drucker’s work as it will be beneficial for next week’s ink lesson. Below is some examples of their work.

Okay so now onto the actual lesson! This lesson began with some warm up poses, followed by some tonal studies of different parts of the body.

Life Drawing: 10 second poses and tonality

Today, Mike had us try to capture poses on the page in 10 seconds. To be honest, at first i really struggled with this because i was worrying to much about holding a solid figure but I realised that if i quickly got the line of action down i could then build a flowing shape around it that closely resembled the model. Definitely getting there. Making progress.
